Traditional Advertising
Whatever you do, don't abandon all of your other
forms of advertising. The Internet is a very crowded place. Google
alone has crawled and indexed over 3 billion web pages. And although
a website is almost a requirement for business owners today, it
should not be viewed as the only marketing game in town. Your
site should be a component of your promotional efforts along with
print advertising, radio and television spots, trade shows and
public speaking.
Many people have success with posting regular classified ads in
their local papers, just because few people actually use this
medium for marketing websites.
Finally, it should go without saying but we are going to say it
anyway...put your website address everywhere...on your letterhead,
business cards, catalogs, brochures, checks, invoices and purchase
orders. Print it on bags to give away at the next trade show.
Put it on your office signage and on your cars. Print it on t-shirts,
jackets, pens, cups and key rings. Attach it to the memos and
articles you write. Be sure it is on each and every email you
send out in the form of a signature file. If you see a blank space,
put your domain name on it.
Anywhere and everywhere is the name of the game.
