Hide Your Affiliate Links In the Title Bar

If you are trying to promote a product as an affiliate for another website, chances are, you are losing sales from other "affiliate marketers".

You see, when you are taken to a website from an affiliate partner's website, you will usually see something like this in the URL:

http://www.topbusinessideas.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=affiliate_username

What this tells me is someone is going to get a commission if I buy something from this site. It also means that I am going to be paying too much for a product since there is this middle man involved. People who are knowledgable in affiliate marketing know that all you have to do is go to the website you are thinking about buying from, sign up as an affiliate yourself, and then insert your affiliate username in the URL above. This will give YOU the credit for the sale, thus making your overall purchase price lower since you will be getting the commission on the sale.

To prevent this from happening to you, here is all you have to do. Use your hyperlinks like this instead:

http://www.topbusinessideas.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=affiliate_username&http://www.topbusinessideas.com

By adding an " & " after the URL and putting the plain web address, what you are basically doing is telling the browser go to the first URL but display the second one in the title bar!

Go ahead and try it, you will see the title bar will only say http://www.topbusinessideas.com when in fact you are on the affiliate's referring link page.

By making this one simple change, people will be less likely to know they were referred by an affiliate and be more likely to make the purchase through your affiiate link!
