Watch Out For Scams Because Internet marketing requires a time investment and few people truly know how to do it, you will find many people out there that seem to offer magical solutions to your traffic problems. Don't fall for them! If a marketing topic is not listed in this manual, it probably is a scam and will not work. Some common scams are: Buying traffic - These people offer to send you 100,000 visitors to your site for $24.95 (or whatever they charge now). What they actually do is trigger a computer system that generates unique IP addresses and tosses them at your website. Your website statistics program thinks they are real visitors because of the way these scammers have it set up. I learn this the hard way when I first started out. I figured if I got 1 sale per 1,000 visitors at $10, and I bought 1 million visitors for $100, I would make a profit of about $10,000. What I actually got was a complaint from my website host saying I was damaging their server by my actions, plus I lost my $100. Another common scam is the search engine cloakers out there. These programs try to trick the search engines into thinking your site has 1,000's of pages on it, which would mean your site is a great asset to the Internet community. What actually happens is your site gets blacklisted after about a month, and is permanently banned from the search engines. Another is the IP Advertising software programs. I have
not fallen for this one myself, but I know people that have. I don't know how their system works, but I know they
have many people upset with them. Just worth noting here for you. Don't use them if you see it out there. In Closing... You have been equipped with all of the information you need to turn your website business into a thriving success story. Now, put it to use! Oh so often people read training materials and say, "yeah, those may work" or "that's a good idea, but it would be too difficult to do". For those people, I say good. That means I will have one less competitor to work against while my business is booming! People who are lazy with their business marketing, will never see success.
